A renovation to a postwar home in Bardon, Brisbane
The brief focused on capturing the distinct mood of the home’s two halves. In the original section, the aim was to reflect the smaller, darker, and calmer atmosphere—where changes were subtle and centred around colour and cabinetry rather than structural intervention. Detail shots were especially important here. In contrast, the new kitchen and its connection to the sliding doors and deck marked a deliberate shift in tone and materiality, opening into a lighter, warmer communal space. Documenting this transition, along with the textures and finishes of the kitchen and doors, was a key focus.
